Quad Hockey

Quad Hockey is an another version of Roller hockey like Inline hockey. Quad Hockey is also known as rink hockey, which is a team sport that enjoys significant popularity in many Latin nations and so has many names. Sometimes the game is called Quad Hockey, Rullbandy, Rolhockey, Rollhockey, International Style Ball hockey, Rink hockey, and Hardball hockey, based on which region of the world it's played. Roller hockey is your overarching title for a roller game which has existed before inline skates had been "re-invented" in the 70s.  Quad hockey has been played on quad skates, in over sixty countries and has a global following.

In quad hockey, two five men team, which consists of four players and a goalie, who are try to score a goal, by pushing the ball in to rival team’s goal with their stick. Foul will be stated by the officials, if ball is put in the motion by skates, other than by stick. Quad hockey match consists of two 25 minute sessions with two 5 minute sessions, to settle ties together with the clock stopping when the ball become dead.

Roller hockey quad is performed with traditional quad roller skates, devoting greater manoeuvrability to the participant while inline hockey performed with inline skates and carries a great deal of fast "rushing back and on" activities. The Quad hockey goalie uses a flat batting glove that provides rebound characteristics when blocking shots on goal while, Inline Hockey goalies use a catcher glove to capture shots made on goal. Also, excessive contact between participants are illegal in quad hockey.

 

Roller hockey was a demonstration sport at the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics. There have been 43 editions of this Roller Hockey World Cup, with Latin countries dominating the sport since the 1940s: Spain (17 World championships), Portugal (15 World championships), Argentina (5 World championships) and Italy (4 World championships).  New rinks are constructed with white or black blue pavements to make the ball more visible on TV, because roller hockey is very fast game.

The first listed Hardball Roller Hockey match was played in 1878 in London, England at Denmark Rink. It was initially called "roller polo" because of the debut of Polo in 1876, skaters took polo to the rinks. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the Roller skates improved drastically, and famed movie stars, Stan Laurel and Charlie Chaplin performed roller Hockey at the early 1900s. The first World Championships in roller hockey were held at Stuttgart, Germany in 1936. The sport debuted at the US National Championships in 1961 and in 1979 The Pan American Games introduced roller hockey as a sport. Also at 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, Roller hockey was present as an exhibition sport.

Roller Hockey (Quad) was known as Hardball Hockey in America before November 2008 when the USOC embraced the game's more common title, Rink Hockey. Other names for the sport include Hardball Roller Hockey, Ball Hockey, International Style Ball hockey, International hockey, Quad Hockey, Hockey, English Roller Hockey, Hockey Sobre Patines, Hockey pista, Hockey Skids, Traditional Hockey, Cane Hockey, Rollhockey, and Rulluisuhoki.
