Competitive Roller Hockey Tournaments

Most Aggressive youth hockey teams play in tournaments.  The tournaments vary depending on location, but a normal bracket process is usually used.  Teams travel to specific locations around their nation, occasionally moving out of state.  Usually, there are two types of Roller Hockey Tournaments. They are, out of state tournaments and internal state tournaments.  Also, there are some national tournaments which competitive teams compete for.

International association that organize the biggest Roller hockeyworld championship is The World Skate (that is a part of the World Roller Games).  Over twenty national teams take part in both of these events.  

There are tournaments situated at the U.S but performed with players all over the globe.  Statewars and Narch are just two National tournaments of every age category and every skill level. In skater hockey, game is governed in Europe by the International Inline Skater Hockey Federation.

Roller Hockey World Cup

The World Roller Hockey World Cup is the global championship for roller hockey arranged by World Skate.  The first event was held in 1936 in the city of Stuttgart.  On the odd years, the World Championship tournament has been held every 2 years since 1989.  Until 2017, the Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports organized it.  As of 2019, after the mix between International Skateboarding Federation and the FIRS, the World Cup is an event of the bigger World Roller Games.

Only five nations have taken the Roller Hockey World cup, Spain winning seventeen times, Portugal winning sixteen times, Argentina winning five times, Italy winning four times, and England winning twice.

All Roller Hockey World cup events have been 16 team events, featuring a four group round robin tournament with four teams in each group since 2013. The best two teams in each group advance to an eight team knockout final series. 

 

Roller hockey at the 1992 Summer Olympics

Due to this sport's widespread popularity and the presence of top level competitive teams in Catalonia such as FC Barcelona and Reus Deportiu Hockey, motivated the Organizing Committee to suggest its inclusion in the Olympic programme.  After a consideration, Quad Roller hockey was included in the official Olympic programme of the 1992 Summer Olympics, held in Barcelona.

The game (roller Hockey) was held from July 26 to August 7, 1992, and it has been contested in four places in Catalonia and consisted of a single event for male players.   A total of 12 countries entered a team for this Olympic event, for a total of 120 players. The top contenders, Portugal, Italy, Spain, and Argentina all finished in the first four places, and the top two teams played with each other in the final and also the third and fourth placed teams played with each other for Bronze medal. And in the final match Argentina won against Spanish host.
